Tierra Verde, a beautiful island community nestled along Florida’s Gulf Coast, offers more than just stunning waterfront properties and a relaxing coastal lifestyle. This gem, located just south of St. Petersburg, is rich in history and natural beauty. Once a collection of small islands known as ‘Bird Keys,’ it has since transformed into a thriving residential and tourist destination. It’s also home to Fort De Soto Park, a popular spot for beachgoers, history buffs, and nature lovers alike.
As a member of the Tampa Bay Free Beaches organization, I’m passionate about fostering sustainable tourism and creating new opportunities for residents and visitors. Our organization is working to designate a family-friendly, clothing-optional beach in the Tampa/St. Pete area. While Florida’s Atlantic Coast boasts four clothing-optional beaches, the Gulf Coast, unfortunately, has none. We aim to correct that disparity by advocating for the Fort De Soto Park, East Beach area to be officially recognized as a clothing-optional space.
Our Vision: A New Era for Tampa Bay Beaches
The Tampa Bay Free Beaches organization believes that by establishing a designated clothing-optional beach, we can promote safe and sustainable tourism, create jobs, and generate tax revenue that will benefit the entire community. Through public education, legislative advocacy, and fundraising, we’re working to open more inclusive recreational spaces along Florida’s west coast. Our efforts include fostering legislative changes that will not only benefit the Tampa Bay area but also support other clothing-optional beaches and naturist organizations across the state.
For those interested in supporting our cause or learning more, I encourage you to visit Tampa Bay Free Beaches (https://tampabayfreebeaches.org/). Together, we can help create a more welcoming and diverse beach experience for everyone.
Discover Tierra Verde Living
For anyone considering a move to this charming community, I’ve created a section on my website featuring available properties close to the East Beach area in Tierra Verde. Whether you’re looking for a waterfront home or a place with easy access to the area’s natural beauty, Tierra Verde Listings (https://kevinfarfan.com/listings/tierra-verde) is the place to start.
While you’re exploring Tierra Verde, make sure to visit one of my favorite local spots, DeRusso’s, located at 1120 Pinellas Bayway S. They serve the best New York-style pizza in the area and offer a fantastic dining experience that complements the island’s laid-back vibe.
Whether you’re here for the sun, sand, or pizza, Tierra Verde has something for everyone, and I’d love to help you find your perfect home in this paradise.
